Specializing in an impressive array of expertly crafted dumplings and savory noodle dishes, this restaurant invites diners on a flavorful journey through classic and innovative Chinese flavors.

The staff’s warmth and attentiveness immediately elevate the experience, with team members eager to guide you through their standout menu offerings.
The culinary highlight here is undoubtedly their diverse variety of dumplings, which come steamed, boiled, or spicy and sour, each bursting with juicy fillings and meticulously balanced seasonings. The Pork and Mushroom Xiao Long Bao and Spicy Braised Beef Noodle Soup (红烧牛肉面) have earned frequent praise for their rich, complex flavors and satisfying textures. Imagine biting into a panfried beef and onion dumpling that delivers an irresistible juice burst, perfectly complemented by its crisp, golden wrapper—a harmony of taste and tactile delight.
For those seeking bold spice, the Spicy and Sour Dumplings, such as the Beef & Onion and Shrimp & Pork & Chive varieties, offer tantalizing heat brightened with vinegar’s tang, accented by house-made chili oil and black vinegar readily available on the table. Vegetarians and vegans are well-catered to here too, with hearty options like the Vegan Braised Vegetarian Chicken Noodle Soup Made of Tofu and two distinct vegan dumplings featuring bok choy, mushroom, and spicy tofu fillings that delight without compromising on flavor.
Beyond dumplings, the menu continues to impress with dishes such as the addictive Tan Tan Noodles, the fragrant and fluffy Shrimp Fried Rice, and vibrant vegetable sides like Stir Fried String Beans with Minced Pork (干煸四季豆) and Sauteed Bok Choy with Garlic (蒜蓉小白菜). The balance of textures—from tender noodles to crisp greens—creates a gratifying variety that keeps every bite intriguing.
Beverage lovers will appreciate the unique, refreshing twist of the Ube Taro Milk Tea (芋香奶茶) and the tangy, subtly sweet Passion Fruit Sauce, perfect accompaniments to the rich and spicy main dishes.
Real diners echo this sentiment, sharing that Dumpling World is a place where bold flavors come alive, portions satisfy, and service truly shines. Whether it’s Amirah’s praise for juicy, panfried dumplings or Mili’s enjoyment of generous chow mein portions alongside attentive service, it’s clear the team’s commitment to guest satisfaction is palpable. The restaurant’s vibe itself fosters comfort and focus, making it a welcomed stop for both casual meals and productive afternoons.
While some visitors note room for small improvements in seasoning balance or texture, the overall experience is one of discovery and warmth, making Dumpling World a compelling choice for anyone craving a nuanced, delicious taste of Chinese cuisine in Austin.
I stopped in for a solo lunch on a random Tuesday. Around 2:30, the place was empty, but not for long. Within 20 minutes, it almost filled up again. The team member who took my order was super kind and made some suggestions, and I'm glad I went with it. I got their Spicy Braised Beef Noodle Soup and pan-fried Beef and Onion dumplings. The dumplings were super juicy, and the filling-to-wrapper ratio was on point. But the real hero was the noodle soup. I've actually had all the noodle soups in that area, including the Chinatown Plaza. And I'd say this one is exceptionally generous for the price. The flavour was delicious. I'm a big chilli oil person, and this soup did not need anything. It was not as spicy as it was flavourful. And I didn't need to add anything else to it, which speaks volumes in my book.
The food was delicious, and the servers were incredibly helpful and attentive. They really went above and beyond to assist me in making my decision. I particularly enjoyed my steamed bun. The portion of chow mien was generous, and I had enough for lunch the next day! There is parking at the triangle and also a garage with limited spots. It was also a good atmosphere for me to get some work done. My only regret is that there aren’t more dumplings available at a place called Dumpling World.
I heard rave reviews about this place but was disappointed with my experience here. Nothing we tried really stood out. The soup dumplings were large and juicy but lacked flavor. The spicy braised beef noodle soup was also underwhelming. The green beans had good flavor but were undercooked. The fried rice was a bit bland. The service was friendly and somewhat attentive. The atmosphere is pretty casual. Parking was hard to find.
Enjoyed this spot, maybe not THE best in the city but still decent. I loved the spicy wontons, really great spices. I love that they give chili oil and black vinegar on the table, and the pitcher of lemon ice water without asking is something every Austin restaurant should take note of. Pork thumb buns were good, garlic bok choy is good and I loved dipping it in the vinegar and chili oil but I don’t typically order it so I don’t have a lot to compare it to. Chicken chow mein could be more flavorful in my opinion but it was still decent and the chicken was not dry at all and had a decent amount of it. Lemon supreme tea was delicious, I love that is on the less sweet side. Strawberry tea with popping boba was also really good, more sweet than the lemon tea without being overly so. Staff is attentive without being overbearing, and the food came out in good time. A little pricey in the end for 4 food items and 3 teas at $80 total though.
Juicy pan-fried buns and passion fruit cucumbers are so refreshing. The beef stew noodle soup is flavorful, and the noodles are cooked perfectly. Definitely recommend!
Dumpling world is a small Chinese restaurant in the triangle that specializes in different types of dumplings. They have a few other dishes, but I haven’t tried anything but dumplings here. Their dumplings are big, probably at least twice the size of dumplings at most restaurants so order accordingly. The service is great and the parking situation is typical on the triangle. It can be a little hard, but there’s parking garages as well.
Spicy Wonton soups was spicy and full of flavor, soup dumplings were fried and yummy. I love this because with soup dumplings they tend to get hard sitting there and these were fried which really makes them taste good. The chowmein was really good better than most as the noodle was a little thicker not gummy full of flavor.
I have lived in Austin for 6 years and it’s rare to find Asian food this good, and this place honestly exceeded my expectations. I tried the beef noodle soup, garlic green beans, and the spicy beef and sour dumplings- everything was so flavorful and delicious. The only minor downside is the small parking lot, but the food easily makes up for it!
